How to Authenticate with Sony ID

Ci supports authentication with Sony accounts.  Already have a PlayStation Network, Sony store, or Sony Rewards account?  Perfect!  By linking a Sony ID account, you will be able to sign in to Ci using the same sign-in ID and password that you use for other participating Sony group services. New Ci users can also sign up using their Sony account or create a new Sony account directly from the Ci registration page!

In this article, we'll walk you through how to connect (or create) a Sony ID in Ci.  To learn more about Sony ID, there are two additional articles that can be helpful: What is Sony ID & Sony ID FAQs

Note: If you login through your company’s Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication to Ci, you will not see an option to authenticate with Sony accounts and will continue to use your company's SSO.

Connect With Existing Ci Account

Upon logging into Ci, click the Avatar Icon near the bottom-left corner of the UI and select Account Settings. In the left-hand navigation menu, select Sign In & Security and scroll to the bottom of the page until you see SONY ACCOUNT and click the Connect link:

In the resulting page, you'll need to confirm your account by typing in your Sony Sign-in ID (click Continue). Next, type in your password for that account (click Continue). Confirm your personal information (first name & last name) and click Next:

In the final page, we'll confirm that your information is associated with an existing account on a different Sony group service. To finish linking the account, select the check box near the bottom to accept Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and click Accept (optionally, select the first check box to subscribe to Ci Media Cloud product and service email updates):

You will be redirected back to Account Settings in Ci. Notice the message near the upper-right of the UI confirming the Sony ID is connected. If you scroll to the bottom of the Sign In & Security screen, you'll notice your Sony ID email address is populated and connected to your Ci account.

Note: Signing in to Ci using your Sony ID credentials will bypass Multi-Factor Authentication:

Connect Without Existing Ci Account

Don't have an existing Ci Account? No problem! Connecting your Sony ID from the Ci registration page will automatically create a new account in Ci using your Sony sign-in ID and password. First, go to and select Screen_Shot_2022-11-10_at_1.44.26_PM.png. You'll be directed through the same steps we outlined above (see Figures 2 - 5). If you don't have an existing Ci account or Sony ID, you can create both accounts by clicking the same "Sign in with SONY" button on the Ci Sign In/Registration page. In the resulting page, select Create Account near the bottom of the page (see Figure 2) and follow the instructions. Once you've successfully created a Sony ID account, you will automatically be taken into your new Ci account.

Note: If you choose to log out, please note that you must always use the Screen_Shot_2022-11-10_at_1.44.26_PM.png button to log back into your Ci account:
